MacBook Air 13"/1.6Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/80GB/iSight
MacBook Air is ultrathin, ultraportable, and ultra unlike anything else. But you don’t lose inches and pounds overnight. It’s the result of rethinking conventions. Of multiple wireless innovations. And of breakthrough design. With MacBook Air, mobile computing suddenly has a new standard. Practically every detail that could be streamlined has been. Yet it still has a 13.3-inch widescreen LED display, full-size keyboard, and large multi-touch trackpad. It’s incomparably portable without the usual ultraportable screen and keyboard compromises. MacBook Air includes an oversize trackpad with multi-touch technology so you can pinch, swipe, or rotate to zoom in on text, advance through a photo album, or adjust an image. The innovative now-you-see-it, now-you-don’t port hatch flips down to reveal (and closes to hide) all the ports you really need: a USB 2.0 port, a headphone jack, and a micro-DVI port that supports DVI, VGA, composite, and S-video output. The thinness of MacBook Air is stirring. But perhaps more impressive, there’s a full-size notebook encased in the 0.16 to 0.76 inch of sleek, sturdy anodized aluminum. And at just 3.0 pounds, MacBook Air is more than portable - it’s with you everywhere you go.

Pros: light weight Cons: no ehternet port, integrated battery
Reviews & Ratings for MacBook Air 13"/1.6Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/80GB/iSight In reading the specs of the 17" MacBook and comparing it to the MacBook Air the actual lightness of the latter doesn't scream at you as it probably should... this thing is LIGHT! It is a great travel companion but... why in the world did they leave off the Ethernet port? There are huge numbers of hotels throughout the world that still do not provide wifi access. An add-on $29 dongle is really a bad idea for a machine that comes close to perfection as a travel computer. The last thing any road warrior is pieces that can get lost. The other mistake is the integrated battery. Any true road warrior is going to carry a second battery for those times when his airplane doesn't have a power supply for his computer... which is more often than not. Having said all of that, It is probably the best laptop since the Radio Shack model 100 came out many years ago.

Pros: screen is gorgeous Cons: no firewire
Reviews & Ratings for MacBook Air 13"/1.6Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/80GB/iSight So light and yet, it is a full mac. People complain about the lack of a drive but considering how much battery and how light I'll sacrifice a drive I used maybe twice on my macbook pro.

Pros: lightweight, easy to use Cons: gets very warm, battery could last longer
Reviews & Ratings for MacBook Air 13"/1.6Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo/2GB RAM/80GB/iSight My wife wanted a lightweight notebook with a clear display, light weight, and a good keyboard. She especially wanted an easy-to-use trackpad because of her arthritic hands. The Macbook Air fulfills all of her requirements. It does get a bit warm after extended use. You have to be careful not to block the air vents on the back of the machine. Since she's not a power user, the Macbook Air is the perfect machine for her.
