Reviews & Ratings for 54Mbps 802.11g ADSL Firewall Modem Router, 4-port Switch
I bought this modem because it was cheap(er) and I didn't find any negative reviews regarding it. When I first received it (I live in Brazil, the modem ships with a user's manual in Portuguese) I configured it for my existing ADSL connection. For some reason, certain sites would not load properly over the wireless with my MacBook (although they did on my windows box). I could plug it in to the Mac using an ethernet cable, but then it picks up a radio station that plays over my speakers, and no amount of fiddling/changing country codes etc. has been able to correct this. I switched ISPs, which is why I bought it in the first place (my new ISP doesn't provide a modem like the old one) and spent many many hours trying to configure it to no avail. I opened a support ticket at the website, and the technician did not answer my questions, and told me to update the firmware. When this didn't work, he told me, and I quote, "There appears to be an incompatibility with your connection and the TEW-435BRM." Uh, thanks? I suggest spending the extra cash to get a modem that you _know_ is supported by your ISP, preferably by checking what kind of documentation they have to help with configuration. Even though this modem was cheaper than other models it makes for a really expensive brick. My ancient SpeedStream 5360 (which I can't even log into) connects no problem to my new connection, whereas this one simply will not.

Reviews & Ratings for 54Mbps 802.11g ADSL Firewall Modem Router, 4-port Switch
The TEW-435BRM router was very easy to setup. I had some problems in getting the correct settings for connecting to the Qwest network, but was finally able to get the required information. The struggles resulted because Qwest provides only limited support for routers not purchased from them.
