Reviews & Ratings for 4GB PC2-5300 200-pin DDR2 SDRAM SODIMM Kit For Select MacBook Pro Memory is memory. Does what it says. Easy to install if you have a tiny screwdriver. It does run a bit hotter than the 2gb factory I removed, but I don't think that can be avoided. Also, you don't get the benefit of an "extra" 2 gb of RAM on OS X. The operating system allocates more to itself when the total goes up. (e.g. I could run a 1 gb virtual machine with no issues with 2gb of total RAM; but with 4 gb total RAM, running a 2gb virtual machine maxes OS X to a stand-still. Running the virtual machine at 1.5 gb virtual machine is ok)
