The HL-5240 Brother Laser Printer is suficient for a small office. It is capable of producing good quality professional tax returns. Speed sufficient for this size printer.
Easy to connect and use, and easy to move. Shipped in a few days without damage.

Great purchase for the price! My previous printer was an HL-5140 Brother for 4 years- great workhorse.

This printer, and all the Brother Products I have owned work great. They are very easy to use and have very few problems. The only problem I have had is when I try to run a sheet of paper through the bypass slot. Envelopes and postcards run through fine, but it seems to have a problem picking up a single sheet of paper to print. I work around it by putting it in the regular paper tray. Other Brother printers I have used do not have this problem, so it could be unique to this particular machine

I picked up this printer for our small non-profit a few years ago. It was a great deal for a laser-printer, and still is. Unfortunately, It has proved to decline quickly with age. It became very loud, printed very slowly, dotted printouts with speckles of ink and eventually started leaving smudges of ink on printouts as well. I ended up having to pay about half the original purchase price to have it looked at; the fix-it guys helped with the smudging and speed issues, but the speckles and noise are still problems. Additional warnings: you must buy high-quality laser printer paper or paper will jam and/or get random creases, and the ink cartridges are very pricey considering the purchase price of the machine.
