Cons: not as advertised, won't support large partitions

Reviews & Ratings for ShareNet 4-USB Port Network Hub + Switch
Be careful, this unit will not work with NTFS formatted drives. I tried using it with several large (250GB, 500GB, and 1TB) external drives and it could not read them. The resolutiution appears to be that they are formatted NTFS, and this unit does not support NTFS. To use large drives, you will have to re-partion them into many small drives (FAT32 is 32GB max?) and format them FAT32. Tritton is "aware of the problem" and said "they may have" a new firmare version coming out to fix the issue, but they could not give me an availablity date. I think I'll send mine back to PC Connection. I'll have to pay a restocking fee "since it isn't broken". Note that it does not support "any USB hard drive" as claimed by both Tritton and PC Connection.
Score:
Tritton "0"
PC Connection "0"
Me "minus the restocking fee"
