Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail
The new look of Leopard showcases your favorite desktop image and puts new file Stacks at your fingertips for a stunning, clutter-free workspace. Leopard brings new power to your old friend, the sidebar. Now items are grouped into categories: places, devices, shared computers, and searches, just like the Source list in iTunes. So with a single click, you’re on your way to finding what you need. Just as you use Cover Flow to flip through album art in iTunes, now you can use it to flip through your files. Cover Flow displays each file as a large preview of its first page. And you can page through multipage documents or play movies.
Using Quick Look in Leopard, you can view the contents of a file without even opening it. Quick Look works with nearly every file on your system, including images, text files, PDFs, movies, Keynote presentations, and Microsoft Word and Excel files. Click the Quick Look icon or tap the Space bar to see a file in Quick Look. Then click the arrow icon to see the same file full screen, even video as it plays.
More than a mere backup, Time Machine makes an up-to-date copy of everything on your Mac: digital photos, music, movies, TV shows, and documents, so you can go back in time to recover anything. Time Machine keeps an up-to-date copy of everything on your Mac. That includes system files, applications, accounts, preferences, music, photos, movies, and documents. Time Machine not only keeps a spare copy of every file, it remembers how your system looked on any given day, so you can revisit your Mac as it appeared in the past.
Use Spaces to group your windows and banish clutter completely. Leopard gives you a Space for everything and puts everything in its Space. Create a Space for work. Create a Space for play. Organize each Space the way you want it just by dragging in windows. Keep all your work projects in one Space and that fun flick you made in iMovie in another.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail I have 2 Mac's Dual 2.7 G5 and a new Mac book pro dual 2.5. I was using 10.4 on the G5 and 10.5 on the laptop with an apple air port the network worked after a lot of trial and error. After installing 10.5 on the G5 it worked flawlessly.
And to my surprise there was no speed difference. The actual reason I upgraded was for Adobe Creative Suite 4.0 Design Premium. It's too early too tell about the Creative Suite speed difference.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail This was cheaper than buying a new iMac. Maybe next year. Still navigating around trying new stuff. I'm a slow learner and it takes me a while to figure out what's happening. Looks great and always enjoy a new challenge.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail I'm really not that computer savvy, but the look and performance of the Leopard is really great. In order for me to really be excited about it, I need to learn how to work with it. There are a few minor things that I just don't understand, but overall I am very excited about my purchase.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail The product is very impressive, Apple has once again lived up to it's promise of delivering a fine application. I have not experienced any of the problems that some people have indicated but I have completely Apple dedicated machine, no third party hardware. Thank You, Apple

Pros: stability, performance, power, ease of use, intuitiveness
Reviews & Ratings for Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail Leopard introduces many new innovations to the already powerful Mac OS that I use every day - Cover Flow view in the Finder, Spaces, Stacks, and more. Two that I can't live without are Time Machine and Quick Look. I somehow deleted over 2000 images, but due to the incredible simplicity of Time Machine, I just went back a few hours and got them all back. I've had other backup solutions before, but none as simple (and so not used as much) as Time Machine. Quick Look is so intuitive for me now, I don't know what I'd do without it. From viewing photos, videos, .pdfs, .docs, or listening to music, Quick Look is incredibly useful. Full-screen slideshows of multiple selected images are a great way to preview or share images.
And you can even boot into Windows using Boot Camp if you must.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail I have one of the older G5 Power Macs and was hesitant to upgrade to Leopard. However, it was such a smooth transition I wish I would have done it sooner rather than later.

Cons: the only disappointment was the lack of support, for the classic environment
Reviews & Ratings for Mac OS X 10.5.4 Leopard Retail I have been waiting to upgrade to the "Leopard" operating system until there have been some updates. It is now 10.5.5 so I thought it was time. I haven't been disappointed.
