24" 245T Widescreen LCD Monitor

The 24 245T Widescreen Monitor affords you the ability to be efficient and perform at an optimal level. It is also stylish and feature rich. Starting with it’s glossy body style which can be desk or wall mounted and continuing with its ability to have multiple screens visible at one time. With its 6ms response time, clear and vivid images and multi connection capability you are in a position to accomplish all that you need and more. The 245T's HDCP protects the integrity of content as it is being transmitted. This along with the 245T’s digital visual interface (DVI) which delivers video images with very high resolution makes for optimum movie entertainment on this sleek monitor. Plus, with HDMI, Composite, S-Video and Component inputs, the 245T can be connected to a variety of AV devices such as Game Console, DVD player, VCR, Audio, Camcorder, as well as computers. The 245T utilizes DPMS (Display Power Management Signaling) which translates into the monitor using less than 2W in stand-by mode. It controls the power supply after automatically checking the monitor condition, allowing to drastically reduce the power consumption. It can also be either desk or wall mounted using VESA compatible mounts. It has a detachable stand that provides the wall or arm mounting option. Thus you have much more flexibility as to where you place your monitor wall, desk and various positions.

A bit expensive but a great monitor. Color is very good as are brightness and contrast.
Much better than most other monitors on the market today. Fully adjustable stand was a must for me.

Reviews & Ratings for 24" 245T Widescreen LCD Monitor
The Monitors - Color to Spare

These Samsung 245T monitors are $649 a piece or more (they list for like $1000) that's more than I've ever spent on a monitor in my life, and I bought two.

WHY?

Not just because they are 1920x1200 native resolution, and I do film work so I need that full resolution available. There are plenty of 24" monitors with this resolution available for under $300.

In short, it's because I work on film projects, and I've been tired of what I do on my desktop not looking the same on the big screen - or vice versa. The problem is COLOR GAMUT. The Color Gamut is the number of colors that you can see, or the number of colors that a particular medium or device can represent.

Most LCD monitors have a color gamut that is as low as 40% of the NTSC standard, with 72% being the gamut of a "good" monitor. In fact most LCD monitors are actually 6 bits per color. YUK! On regular monitors you might even see banding and other junky artifacts. For an artist, wanting to have an accurate representation of their work it's frustrating to say the least.

These Samsung monitors 98% of the Adobe RGB gamut - you can see substantially more colors on these monitors than on "standard" monitors.

AND THESE LOOK FANTASTIC. In fact, before calibration, they are almost TOO wide. Showing a brilliance of color that is surprising. Properly calibrated, you see a depth and richness of color that is remarkable. We'll see how well this translates to film in the theater - but for now, I'm excited at the quality of these monitors.

Here's a few other notes on them - You can pivot the display 90 degrees for portrait mode, and they have a wealth of connections in back - a fully compliant HDMI port, a 4 port USB hub, audio, video and SVideo, DVI, and Component video. It allows for picture in picture, so for video editors, you can have a monitor for digitizing etc.

When my Secondary 20" Monitor in a dual monitor setup starting seriously acting up, I decided to treat myself to a second Samsung 245T. Two 24" monitors? Yes and I love it. The Monitor stand for these LCD are extremely flexible, you can put the monitor exactly where your eyes want to see. There is no going back
