Pros: five picture modes that offer lots of adjustment., eye popping hd with excellent color and contrast., set of front inputs includes sd memory card slot., menu layout easy to navigate., simple uncluttered remote., great viewing on a bright day or with lights out., low operating temp., includes anti image retention management tools., solid construction and handsome styling., panasonic's reputation for quality. Cons: factory picture adjustments set too high -, use lower settings during plasma break-in period., has no vga port for pc so must use dvi to hdmi., glossy trim finish smudges easily., average speaker sound quality could be better., it's hard to find any serious faults with this tv.
Reviews & Ratings for 42" HD Plasma TV 720p This plasma TV is highly rated by consumer reports for good reason. The picture is second to none for a TV in this price range and it has all the connectivity we need (love the extra front panel inputs). This will be our third Panasonic TV. Each of the other two "Panies" we owned never really wore out, they just became obsolete. The first one was purchased in 1976 and we finally got rid of it last year (still working!). The second was purchased at Sears about 15 years ago. That one will end up in our basement as this has happily become our new living room TV.
We waited to make the move to HD and did a lot of research. PC Connection had an amazing price for this name brand HDTV during the holidays. That coupled with the fast free shipping and a free wall mount (after rebate) made this a no brainer purchase for us. We could not be happier with both the TV and the service we received from PC Connection. We were pleasantly surprised after making some transaction adjustments through customer service, and the delivery man went out of his way to praise the package's appearance that arrived in an "unusually well handled" condition. If you are looking for an affordable QUALITY plasma TV, grab this one from PC Connections while you can. You won't be sorry.

great for the pric but not at high altitudes

Once the tv gets into higher altitudes something starts to go wrong with the picture. I forget the reason why now but I would recommend this tv for anyone below 3000 ft.
