Pros: comes with all cables, inexpensive, upconverts to 1080i, supports ntsc and pal, very small footprint Cons: auto plays first media file in a subdirectory, usb port on rear of unit, some usb flashdrives may not be recognized
Reviews & Ratings for ScreenPlay TV Link You can use almost any USB storage device with this unit. Personally I copy .avi and other video files onto 4GB flashdrive and plug it in and play. You can use a USB harddrive too. No need to burn DVD or CDs if you don't want to archive your videos. Plays audio formats too. Easy to setup. All cables are included. Can be installed and running in just a few minutes. Plays many video and audio formats. Upconverts to 1080i and supports other video resolutions too. Great picture quality. This is my favorite video gadget! You can find many reviews of this item by searching the internet. A few things I think that can be improved are: 1-You may encounter a USB flashdrive that the unit may not recognize. 2- When playing videos, the audio doesn't begin exactly at the same time as the video does. It takes a second or two for the audio to begin..but everything thereafter is perfect and video/audio are in perfect sync. 3-If you have videos or audios in subdirectories, when you navigate to one of them it automatically starts playing the first file in that directory. If you don't want to play the first one or want a directory tree to select the file you desire you have to press STOP and the file listing will appear. 4- The USB port is on the back of the unit. I think it should be on the front so its easier to insert flashdrives or usb drives. However you can do what I did and buy a USB extension cable and plug it in the rear USB port. Then you can use the opposite cable end to plug your USB storage devices in.

Reviews & Ratings for ScreenPlay TV Link First I bought a Iomega ScreenPlay HD, and used it to load my Karaoke disc from CD+G, VCD, & DVDs, this unit solved my problem locating my hundreds of karaoke discs and hooked it up to a karaoke mixer and my karaoke system was never the same again, now I have easy access on every songs I choose, but I ran out of space and hope Iomega will make a 1TB version of it until I found out about the ScreenPlay TV Link now I got me a 1TB external Hard Drive FAT 32 more faster search than NFTS format, now I am Happy and have more space for my future karaoke songs...THANKS IOMEGA
