The Sony wireless headphones is an excellent idea poorly implemented. The amplifier in the transmitter is underpowered and requires a preamp to work properly. Also missing is a balance control on the receiving headphones.
In addition, the transmitter signal is weak compared to that of a typical cordless phone working at 900 MHz.
