Pros: arrived within 24 hours with free ground shipping!, $200 cheaper than hh gregg!
Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver This is my first receiver purchased and it does everything I want it to do so far. I have my xm satellite radio, dvd/vcr/cd, hooked up so far. The surround sound makes movies come alive. Still using old tv, but will upgrade to 1080p soon and will be able to take advantage of on screen features. Also planning on buying Blu ray player in future. This system will be able to handle the new equipment.

Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver In order to use on screen features you need HDMI connection. Because I have Blue Ray player, Tuner and HDV TV. I needed a 3 HDMI connection on my TV. So I had to use the alternate set up no on screen capabilities. That caused a little confusion during hook up. Other wise pretty easy connection. Good value and sounds great!

Sony A/V Receiver STRDG920

Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver A tremendous value for the money. PC connections made this a seamless purchase, and they were spot on about the performance of this receiver. The secret to the STR-DG920 is to read the manual at least twice, before you try to set it up. The directions are not user friendly, so careful study is in order. Once you understand the directions, this receiver delivers....big time. I spent six months researching mid-range, and high end receivers, and the 920 is the clear choice, if you are looking for great performance, and real bang for the buck. I highly recommend the 920, and I would buy it again.

Receiver Top Notch (for the price)

Pros: 110 watts x 7.1, 4 hdmi in / 1 hdmi out, excellent on screen menus, decodes dts-hd ma & dolby truehd, remote ir codes found in harmony database, upconverts video, all video in output via hdmi out Cons: setup seemed easy but wasn't really, remote isn't back-lit
Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver I've had several Sony Home Theater Receivers including a few of their top-end ES models. The 920 is an excellent receiver for the price and has all the options the average to above-average home theater would need. It decodes all the new hi-def audio codecs like DTS-HD MA & Dolby TrueHD. It has 4 HDMI in and 1 HDMI out and upconverts video as well. The 100 watts per channel really shine on big-budget Blu-ray movies like Iron Man and Transformers. You simply can not go wrong on this receiver. If strapped for cash and need to save a few bucks, the 820 model is rather good as well but drops a few features like on-screen PS3-like menu system, etc.

Fast Shipment Powerful Receiver

Pros: powerful well-built Cons: it's a large unit
Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver This receiver replaces a 5-year-old Panasonic. After shopping online, PC Connection had the best price. I ordered it and it arrived quickly thereafter. This unit rocks! Most features that I used to run thru my DVR, I now run thru this Sony A/V receiver, with more speed, and more clarity onscreen. With 110 wpc, this baby easily powers my surround system, and the remote is friendly, also. It was a great buy!

Pros: quality for price Cons: complex setup can be confusing
Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver Setup is complex, and was made more so by my own faulty HDMI cable, but Sony tech support pinpointed the problem in a single phone call. The Time Warner Scientific Atlanta cable box is still not compatible with the Sony HDMI ports, but the work around using component video and coaxial audio still delivers the HD video to my projector and multichanel audio to my room thanks to the upconvert capability of the STR-DG920.

Pros: 4 hdmi inputs, faroudja upconverter, clean punchy sound, easy to use remote, decodes all new sounds Cons: instruction manual not well written, no other con
Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver This unit offers everything you need to get the new sound codecs like true Dolby HD and DTS MA and the Dolby Prolgic IIx is awesome! The best part about this receiver other than it's a Sony product but they choose Faroudja chip to do the "upconverting" to 1080p! My Xbox360 and HD cable box never looked better!! Pc connect also excellent fast free shipping and superb pricing. highly recommend it!

Pros: seemed easy to install with previous experience. Cons: what does one do with all those obsolete cables?
Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver Matches up with a Sony Bravia TV with satellite provider to give a crystal clear HD picture and outstanding sound. Must be the best tech value for the money. This was a boffo improvement over the previous AV receiver which was highly rated in its time.

Pros: great sound, lots of inputs, 4 hdmi, on screen programming Cons: not all inputs work together, hdmi inputs not assignable, cheap remote
Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver Wanted to upgrade my home system and this looked like a great receiver, especially at the PC Connection Price. Overall, I am very happy with it. Sound is great, number of inputs is terrific and love the on-screen programming. However, as other reviews will note, even though it has 4 HDMI inputs, these are no assignable. Also, when designating the inputs, it can be a little frustrating because if you use them all, certain audio inputs just will not work with certain video inputs, even if the manual says they will. Also, the remote is cheap and flimsy. Overall, it is a great receiver, just a challenge on the setup.

Reviews & Ratings for 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver I am really wanting to review the good service and very fast shipment of this item from PCConnection more than reviewing the product itself. I would recommend to anyone to buy from this site. I purchased this item on sunday late afternoon and I received the item sometime on Wednesday so the shipment was very fast. The product itself is a very good product. The auto calibration using the mic is very quick and easy and it sounds great after installation. i have a blu-ray player, Directv HDDVR, and a xbox 360 hooked up to it. all but the xbox is hooked up thru HDMI. picture and sound is excellent. I have no complaints about performance, ease of use, remote, or picture and sound quality so far. there is one thing that i did notice and it was that the component video inputs and output is analog and not HD. so i ended up hooking my xbox video part straight to the TV cause my component video inputs on my TV are HD input. The receiver upconverts the component input up to 1080p thru HDMI but the upconverted picture is not as good as the picture is when i hooked it up straight to the TV. Other than that good product and great service from this site.
