Cons: so small it is difficult to install.

Reviews & Ratings for 2 Port PCI Express 1394a FireWire Card
This is one small PCI express card. So small, that it took lots of light and time to install it correctly in the Mac Pro for which I bought it.
Once installed, no drivers were necessary, however it wasn't until I re-booted the mac pro that is worked correctly. So make sure you do that or you may think it isn't compatible.
Once installed, I plugged in a video camera and the system saw the camera instantly, and even seemed to process it more smoothly than the built-in firewire card in the mac pro.
The pros are that it works well after install.
The cons are that it is so small that it is a bit difficult to install in a Mac Pro with all its other cards.
