Reviews & Ratings for Powershot SD880 IS 10MP Digital Camera - Silver Very small, truly pocketable, easy to hold, accessible controls, 4X zoom, fast start up, low shutter lag, useful ISI control, and high quality images for a small camera with a small sensor. Although there is no true manual mode, there are still very flexible controls over camera settings which are directly accessible or accessible without digging too deeply into menus, which are fairly easy to learn.
Flash power is very limited, although possibly similar to comparable cameras. Out of the box this sample defaulted to settings that can produce disappointing images if you don't realize what's going on. Digital zoom, which degrades image quality, is on; the annoying focus assist light is on; and the rather unreliable face recognition focusing mode is on. It's advisable to turn all these things off and then learn when you might want to turn them back on. Exploring the Program mode is also very worthwhile.

Pros: size, weight, ease of use, display Cons: lack of viewfinder
Reviews & Ratings for Powershot SD880 IS 10MP Digital Camera - Silver Another strong update from Canon of its popular Digital Elph line. Continues with a huge (3") LCD and intuitive controls. Picture quality is fine for a compact, though of course doesn't match an SLR. No viewfinder is a compromise, but truthfully when using a point-and-shoot, I don't use the viewfinder too much anyways. And the LCD is viewable even in bright light, so the lack of a viewfinder isn't too big of a deal.
