It operates better in an XP environment than on Vista.
We've since switched all our telephony to Skype, and this Webcam / microphone is a solid performer.

The main feature I was interested in was it's 'AutoFocus' because i am setting up a new notebook PC for a partially disabled person. This feature will make it a lot easier to use for the intended user. The item arrived promptly after it was ordered and arrived in perfect condition! Reviews & Ratings for QuickCam Pro for Notebooks Very easy to use and has all the features you could want. The bundled software has motion detection feature which I use to keep an eye on people that wander into my office while I'm away. I knocked a point off the performance rating because of a couple software quirks. Errors are generated in the event log if the camera is not connected when the quickcam software launches. Since this is a notebook camera, I think that's a little silly. There are a couple other minor things but this is by far the best webcam I've used. Quality of video and audio is top notch. I purchased more than 10 of these cameras for our mobile sales staff to use for web conferencing and am glad I got this model.

The automatic zoom function is quite interesting which it seems the camera can track your face automatically. The image quality is good and smooth. The embeded microphone provides a convenient way for you to chat without worrying about forgeting to bring a mic.
