Reviews & Ratings for D300 Digital SLR Body Only - 12.3MP
I've shot several thousand images with my D300 since last spring. The results (except where I goof) are clean, crisp, sharp and have extremely accurate color. The 14-bit recording option combined with the Active D-Lighting give you great dynamic range. For long exposures you can set it to delay 1 second before really tripping the shutter, which allows all the mirror-movement and shutter-press vibrations to damp out, making the shot much sharper.

Reviews & Ratings for D300 Digital SLR Body Only - 12.3MP
After a huge amount of research the Nikon D300 was my first DSLR camera and I am so happy I picked it. It has a huge number of features (which will take a long time to learn), takes outstanding pictures, very fast, and when combined with vibration reduction (VR) lenses it is very forgiving. The accessories that came with the camera were very helpful getting started (especially Nikon Transfer and ViewNX). The D300 is definitely a camera I can grow into.
