Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT
The Mac Pro offers the latest in technical computing power and 3D rendering performance. The redesigned enclosure offers improved functionality and greater accessibility with four hard-drive bays and a new cable-free installation process with no cables or connectors to trouble you, so installing up to four 750GB hard drives in four independent, 3Gb-per-second Serial ATA drive bays is quick and easy. Install additional PCI Express cards into the three full-length PCI Express expansion slots, which feature a tool-less bracket for easy installation and removal of cards. The double-wide graphics slot means you don’t have to sacrifice a valuable expansion slot. Eight FB-DIMM slots on two riser cards support up to 32GB of memory. And you’ll find more ports up front for added convenience including a FireWire 800 and another USB 2.0 port.
Every Mac Pro comes with a single 16x SuperDrive, but a second bay lets you outfit your Mac Pro with a pair of SuperDrives. Talk about productivity gains, with two 16X SuperDrives, you can simultaneously read from one drive and write to the other. Read from both drives. Or even write to both.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT This MacPro has offered blinding speed and runs extremely quiet. When it sleeps and the monitor dims, it's hard to tell it's even on. The only disappointment was trying to get the Airport connection to work. The only way we managed to get a strong continuous signal was by adding an Airport Express 23 ft. away from the Airport Extreme base station. Seriously, it has the worst signal strength among several older model Macs. Other users report the same problem with no simple remedy from Apple. I'd give 5-star performance except for this one issue.

Pros: fast, very expandable, tool-less hard drive bays, quiet Cons: expensive
Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT I've owned a lot of Macs and this is by far the most impressive. You have probably already figured out that it's very powerful, but what is amazing is how quiet it is. In a silent room you will barely hear it. A little ambient noise and you won't hear it at all.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT I am extremely satisfied with this mac, my second ordered through macconnection. It was time to move up from my previous purchase a G5 from four years ago [which still runs flawlessly] to an Intell processor desktop Mac Pro. Now I can keep up with the games that are written for Intell processors as the PPC's are fading out fast. Plus the fact that I am now able to do movies, and other graphic intense applications and games. My first mac was dented in trasit and after notifying macconnection, they replaced it free of charge. That plus FREE shipping [this mac weighes 70 lbs] has made me a loyal customer for all future purchases from this apple suppler.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT MacPro is a solid machine. My only disappointment is that there is no longer a built-in modem...something I sometimes need for faxing from my Mac.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT This is the first Appe I have ever purchased. I have been working with Windows PC's for the Past 15 years and I was shocked how easy and clean the setup and install was. I am also running Parallels Software on it and Windows WP. Except for some minor Quirks with finding where things are in the MAC world I am very happy with how it works. It is Faster and cleaner than Windows. * As for the Price, that is why I would only give it 4 stars. Also These Mac Pros seem to be build to withstand small arms fire... very strong case but Very Heavy!!

Pros: works well with adobe cs3 Cons: can no longer use safari
Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT It is unfortunate that I can not get my email with safari. I use Wide Open West ( wow ) and somehow they have changed and Safari gives me a blank page. I know it isn't the fault of the computer and it seems that it is something that microsoft has implemented and it makes things difficult for all of us.

Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT I just upgraded from a G4 mirror door and didn't realize how much pain I was in until I plugged in this smoking Mac Pro. It was incredibly easy to set up—no more spending days and days getting all the kinks worked out. Installing RAM and internal drives is a snap too. I couldn't be happier.

Pros: powerful and speedy Cons: os x limited by apple's hardware
Reviews & Ratings for Mac Pro 8-core Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon/2GB RAM/320GB HD/16x SuperDrive/ATI Radeon HD 2600XT Powerful workstation. Mac OS X is a piece of art.
However Apple's hardware, while powerful in the processing dept, is nevertheless mediocre in some respects, particularly the video card, and the lack of built in analog surround sound outputs. 2GB of ram is a ridiculously small amount to have as a baseline at this point in computing, especially with how cheap it has become.
