Reviews & Ratings for 19" AL1916WAB Widescreen LCD Monitor, Black I wanted to move up from a traditional CRT to an LCD for my Apple computer, but am straining for money these days. There was a slightly less expensive Acer display available from PCConnection, but it had a square display. The main reason I was motivated to invest in a new display was that windows are tending to be rectangular these days and do not fit very well on a square format screen. At least that was my experience. In particular I had problems with Quicken. My register did not fit. I had to keep dragging it to the right and to the left to read each individual transaction. With the rectangular format I can see entire transaction records all at once without scrolling. One minor regret. I ordered from PCConnection instead of from MacConnetion for my Apple computer. Therefore, I got a display that is wired for connection to PC's. It was not a big deal since my Apple computer already came with a conversion plug. However, the same display is available from MacConnection, but it has a different part number. I bet the difference is that the Mac version comes with a standard Mac display connection. Not critical, but nice. When you order, you might ask for verification of my theory. Or just order from PCConnection, if you prefer and use the conversion plug supplied by Apple. Finally, their are certain things you want to buy only from Apple, like your computer, for instance. But if you want to save a couple bucks, the Acer is more than satisfactory. When you are looking at the screen, you are not going to wonder, if you could have done better.

You have to know my husband to know that he should work for consumer reports. If you want to buy anything, buy what he has...you know the product was researched to death. His words about the monitor "it's great hon! The picture is very clear, the big screen is great on my eyes, and it fits great on my desk." All that and a low price and I think this makes the best buy. I had reservations buying online but I am very happy I did. This is a great product and I would definitly buy from PC Connection again. Delivery was speedy, which makes for last minute shopping! KUDOS to PC Connection!
