Both a media and a speed converter, the iMcV-Giga-MediaLinX modular converters are the most flexible in the industry, enabling network administrators to extend 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps and 1000 Mbps twisted pair network segments over 1000Base-SX (multi-mode) or 1000Base-LX (single-mode) duplex or single-strand fiber optic cabling.

SNMP-manageable, the iMcV-Giga-MediaLinX series enables network managers to configure the twisted pair port for Auto-Negotiation or Selective Advertising, or force the speed to 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps or 1000 Mbps and between Half-Duplex and Full-Duplex. The fiber port always operates at 1000 Mbps Full-Duplex. Single-strand fiber versions of the iMcV-Giga-MediaLinX series can effectively double the data transport capacity of installed fiber.

iMcV-Giga-MediaLinX Modules are easy to configure and manage with the GUI-based iView SNMP management application software, or with any other SNMP application such as HP OpenView. iView runs standalone on Windows NT/XP/2000, as a standalone Java Application for other operating systems, as a snap-in module for HP OpenView, as a Web Server running under IIS or as a Java Web Servlet. Hot-swappable iMcV-Giga-MediaLinX Modules significantly reduce operation costs by allowing other modules within the same chassis to remain up and running during product upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting.

iMcV-Giga-MediaLinX Modules include LEDs to assist in network diagnostics and troubleshooting. Additionally, the LinkLoss and FiberAlert features make isolating cable breaks easier should one occur.
