HP INP Linux 1-Server License - no media - 436229-B21

The HP ProLiant Essentials Intelligent Networking Pack (INP) - Linux Edition is networking software that provides the virus throttle package supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. Virus throttle is capable of detecting and slowing down the rate at which a virus attack spreads inside the core of the network infrastructure. It also provides an extra layer of protection against fast spreading and unknown viruses even when the virus is not detected anti-virus software.

For SMB customers, INP provides an extra layer of protection against virus attacks when that virus is not detected by antivirus software. For enterprise customers, INP is excellent for preventing the spread of viruses - ProLiant customers can use INP to monitor network traffic for virus-like activity to slow and limit the rate of connections to "new" machines to slow down the spread of viruses while not affecting normal server usage.

System Requirements	The following operating systems are supported on the monitored server: - RHEL 4 update 1 - RHEL 3 update 5 - SLES 9 SP1 - SLES 8 SP4 You do not need Systems Insight Manager agents installed to run INP; however you will not be able to use the capability of SIM to monitor the server. INP is not dependent on SIM to run or manage the network teaming configuration. The only hardware requirement is that the software be installed on an HP branded x86 server and on an HP branded NICs.
