The Barracuda Web Filter 910 enables you to enforce your organization's Internet usage policy and protect your networks. The 910 gateway appliance integrates content filtering, application blocking, and malware protection into one package. Included Energize Updates ensure that all content category, application, and malware definitions are always up-to-date.
The Web Filter blocks access to content that violates your organization's Internet usage policy. You can block content based on content category, domain, URL pattern, or file type. Content categories span over 50 classifications, including pornography, violence, dating, jobs, and chat sites. In addition, the appliance integrates with the safe searching capabilities of popular image search engines to restrict browsing of objectionable content in search results. Also offered is blocked usage of Internet applications that violate policy - popular IM clients such as AIM, ICQ, Yahoo! Messenger, and MSN Messenger. Other Internet applications you can block include software updaters, media applications, and Internet toolbars and utilities.
Tailor your policy enforcement to specific users and groups. The Web Filter provides support for all popular directory servers that support LDAP - both for user authentication and to apply group policies. You can define policies based on IP network address or subnet. Enjoy complete network protection at the gateway against spyware and virus downloads, preventing infections before they reach your users' desktop computers. For computers that have already been infected, the appliance blocks and logs spyware attempts to "phone home." Once infection activity is detected, it can also automatically serve up the included Barracuda Spyware Removal Tool.
