This product is an academic version of the Cisco Catalyst 2924C XL 10/100 autosensing Fast Ethernet Switch.

Cisco's Catalyst 2924C XL 10/100 autosensing Fast Ethernet switch combines outstanding performance, versatile modularity, and easy-to-use management. The 24-port Catalyst 2924C XL is the ideal solution for aggregating Ethernet and Fast Ethernet workgroups and delivering dedicated 10- or 100-Mbps connectivity for individual users and servers.

The 2924 has advanced features to keep your network running efficiently, such as: 3.0 million packets per second forwarding rate; a 3.2 Gbps switch fabric; web-based management; advanced security features; and full-duplex operation on switched 100BaseT Channels for 200Mbps throughput.

It has (22) RJ-45 ports for legacy 10BaseT systems or for 100BaseTX systems, and two Fiber-Optic ports for easy backbone connection. The 2924C XL also has a shared-memory architecture with 4MB of memory. Combined with the 3.2Gbps switch fabric, you get wire-speed performance across all ports. Finally, it features user-selectable address learning, and support for the IEEE 802.1d spanning tree protocol.
