The S6010 notebook PC gves new meaning to the word "portable." The floppy drive detaches and the combo drive is removable, making this computer a lean, mean mobile machine that weighs in at less than four pounds. It's configured with a 1.0GHz Pentium III-M processor with Intel SpeedStep Technology, 512KB on-die L2 cache, 40GB SMART hard drive and 1GB SDRAM (maximum). In addition to the 133MHz bus speed, this notebook also sports a magnesium alloy casing, a modular CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo drive, an external USB floppy drive, one Type I/II CardBus slot and SmartCard reader, and built-in 56K modem and 10/100 Ethernet communications capabilities. The 16x10x24x8 (max. speeds) CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive is housed in the Flexible Bay, which also supports optional CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, weight saver and second battery modules; all can be swapped while the PC is in standby mode. The 13.3" TFT display supports resolutions up to 1024 x 768 in 16 million colors. The Intel 830MG graphics chipset with 8-48MB shared system memory offers external monitor support up to 1280 x 1024, as well as simultaneous internal and external display. SigmaTel AC97 audio with the Dolby Headphone Utility completes the multimedia experience. The S6010 comes with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery, a second battery for the modular bay, AC adapter and 82-key keyboard with a touchpad. Windows 2000 Professional is pre-installed.
