The SP500 from Star Micronics combines renowned reliability and a multitude of high-end features into a compact, value-driven solution. Features such as the logic seeking mechanism, high-speed print head and the electronics contribute to the high print speed of the SP500. This print speed of over 4 lines per second enables the SP500 to outperform the competitors in its class.

The hinged cover of the SP500, with its integrated 'rain channel', protects the printer form liquid spills and other debris. Protection from the elements and the single color highlight feature of the SP500 series provide an excellent solution for food service and kitchen applications where airborne debris is a sure factor.

An internal universal power supply yields a small footprint, combined with the recessed cable connections make for an easy installation and an organized workstation. The SP500 was created with value, performance, and features that will raise the bar for impact printers. A standard in dot matrix printers has been established with the SP500 series.
