Designed with virtualization in mind, the HP ProLiant DL385 G6 features the latest six-core 2400 Series AMD Opteron processors and is ideal for demanding workloads that require high levels of performance. The DL385 G6 comes with a large memory footprint, embedded NICs, internal USB, and plenty of PCI expansion slots and internal storage, making it well suited for a wide range of applications and environments.
Other important aspects of the DL385 G6 are its expandability and flexibility. Multiple drive cage options provide internal storage of up to 4.8TB with 16 SFF drives or up to 6TB with 6 LFF hard drives, 10 Gigabit NIC support, and a choice of 2 out of 4 PCI riser boards for I/O flexibility. And the new modular Smart Array Controllers deliver blazing performance, up to 200 percent faster than the previous generation, with the flexibility to seamlessly add cache and BBWC.

8GB PC2-6400 DDR2 SDRAM, expandable to 64GB (Up to 128 GB with PC2-5300 8GB DIMMs). There are eight memory slots. Four are occupied by removable 2GB modules. To achieve maximum memory, the original chips MUST be replaced.
Note: DIMMs must be installed in identical pairs. Bank interleaving is automatically enabled on a processor node under the following conditions:
Four single ranked DIMMs populated per node (4 x 512 MB or 4 x 1 GB for example) yields 2-way bank interleaving.
Two dual ranked DIMMs populated per node (2 x 2 GB or 2 x 4 GB for example) yields 2-way bank interleaving.
Four dual ranked DIMMs populated per node (4 x 2 GB for example) yields 4-way bank interleaving.
If single and dual ranked DIMMs are mixed on the same node, bank interleaving will not be enabled.
