Surestore Virtual Array 7100 Enclosure - A6183AE

This storage enclosure forms the heart of the Virtual Array 7100 storage system. Simply add disk drives and one or two processor assemblies and connect it to your server for fast, fault-tolerant storage. It includes a 3U cabinet with two redundant power supplies and fans and space for up to 15 Fibre Channel hard disk drives. It supports up to 546GB of storage in a raw JBOD configuration and can also be configured for Double Parity RAID 5, which keeps your data intact even if two disks fail simultaneously. End-to-end checksum protection prevents silent data corruption throughout the entire virtual array data path. HP’s online hot-swappable architecture eliminates planned downtimes for upgrades as well. HP’s virtual array technology lets you create new LUNs quickly, without worrying about the underlying physical technology. You can even mix drive sizes or download a firmware upgrade, all without interrupting service.

The VA 7100 connects via the proven 100MB/s Fibre Channel interface. With two processor assemblies and 15Krpm drives installed, sustained data transfer rates can reach 90MB/s. Integration into your current SAN is worry-free. Windows, HP-UX and Linux users can all access the Virtual Array 7100, and HP offers a broad spectrum of management and security software. With setup and use this easy, you'll be ready to go in minutes.
