HP Serviceguard for Linux is a high availability solution that leverages the strength of HP's experience in the HA business, bringing the best-in-class mission critical HP-UX technologies to the Linux environment and ProLiant and Integrity servers. The cluster kit includes high availability software that provides critical applications the high availability that enterprise customers require for 24x7 business operations. It is designed to protect applications from a wide variety of software and hardware failures, monitoring the health of each server (node) and quickly responding to failures including system processes, system memory, LAN media and adapters and application processes.

Serviceguard for Linux enables customers to cluster HP ProLiant servers or Integrity servers with shared storage from HP Modular Smart Array 500 G2 to HP StorageWorks disk arrays in a 2 to 4-node SCSI or 2 to 16-node Fibre Channel configuration.

New features include HP Serviceguard for Linux A.11.15 support for UnitedLinux 1.0, including SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (AS & ES) 3 Support of the new Fibre Channel driver (version 7.00.3 or later) with built-in multipath support for the MSA1000, EVA3000, EVA5000, VA series and XP series storage arrays up to 16 nodes. This is the recommended multipath mechanism for new configurations. In addition, Serviceguard offers support of the MSA500 G2 shared storage for 2 to 4 node clusters. Also supported are 2 nodes with redundant paths to storage. Support is available for UnitedLinux 1.0, including SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8. It is supported with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (AS & ES) 3. The multipath functionality of Linux MD driver is used with the MSA500 G2 when there are redundant paths. Plus, the availability of the Oracle toolkit, T2376A, allows for physical distribution through HP and reseller channels.
