This product is an ECPAC Encryption/Compression card for Rapier 24/24i/16f/16fi switches, 9800 series switches, and AR725/AR740/AR745 routers. This product provides DES encryption or STAC compression. You can add a AT-AR3DES-001 for 3DES encryption.

This product is designed for companies that wish to link remote networks together. This product is also designed for companies that wish to use remote VPN connections. Allied Telesyn MAC and PAC cards offer new levels of security unmatched in any other router or Layer 3 switch-based security system. With this product, classified information from security sensitive applications can be fully encrypted using the latest cryptographic techniques before transmission across the LAN or WAN. These cyptographic techiniques ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the transmitted data. MAC and PAC cards can be fitted directly into AR-series routers and Rapier Layer 3 switches. MAC and PAC cards provide both hardware-based compression and DES/3DES encryption on all validated PPP and Frame Relay links.
