Cisco's 2924 24-port 10/100 Ethernet switch is perfect for workgroups who need high performance and a lot of bandwidth. Cisco's advanced architecture incorporates a switch fabric of 3.2Gbps and a forwarding rate of 3.0 Million packets per second to deliver wire-speed performance across all ports. The Catalyst has a web-based interface which allows users to manage the switch from anywhere on the network through a standard browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator/Communicator. It has multilevel security on console access which prevents unauthorized users from altering the switch configuration and an Autoconfiguration feature that eases deployment by automatically configuring multiple switches across a network from a single boot server. Its integrated IOS software provides superior functionality for end-to-end integration, including bandwidth aggregation, networked multimedia support, and future VLAN support.

The unit has (24) 10/100BaseTX autosensing RJ-45 ports, (2) module slots for additional ports and it is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3x Full Duplex for 10/100BaseTX Ethernet/Fast Ethernet, IEEE 802.1d Spanning-Tree Protocol and IEEE 802.3u 100BaseTX/FX specifications.
