Providing wire-speed switched connectivity for extended-reach and long-reach fiber, Catalyst 6500 series 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface modules support several switch fabric connection and traffic forwarding options. CEF720 interface module communicates via 40Gbps connections to the Supervisor Engine 720's integrated 720Gbps switch fabric.
