This managed switch is specifically designed for small enterprise workgroups and branch office environments. It offers 8 wirespeed 10/100 Fast Ethernet switch ports and a dual-purpose port combining a fixed 100Base FX fiber uplink for legacy fiber backbone connections and a small form-factor plug-in (SFP) transceiver slot that can accommodate a SX or LX Gigabit transceiver. The fully manageable platform offers powerful traffic prioritization and security features such as 802.1X and RADIUS server authentication. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support provides a seamless path for integrating wireless access points, IP phones or other PoE devices. The switch can be securely and remotely managed from a central main office location using a command line interface, Web interface or Telnet. IEEE 802.1Q VLAN support, multicast filtering (128 groups) and IGMP querying features allow administrators to effectively segment the network and control traffic flow. The small, compact, fanless enclosure is specifically designed for small, confined office spaces.
