The HP point of sale system rp5000 is a stable, manageable retail point of sale solution providing the best lifecycle value using industry standard architecture. This retail-ready customized, standards-based system delivers on the unique requirements of the POS market. It's specifically tailored for the retail environment with an oversized cooling solution and power supply, extreme environmental and shock testing and extensive on-board monitoring and alerts. The rp5000 also boasts extensive connectivity features with more options and greater flexibility.

This model is configured with a 2.0GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, a 48X (max.speed) CD-ROM drive, a 40GB hard drive and 256MB PC2700DDR SDRAM (expandable to 2GB). Upgrade to your requirements with two PCI slots and one 3.5" external bay. The rp5000 connects to your network via the integrated Intel PRO/100VM Ethernet controller. Video is handled by the Intel Extreme Graphics, and audio by the SoundMax Digital AC97 controller with internal speaker. Six USB 2.0 and four serial ports give you plenty of places to connect scanners, printers or any other device you need. It comes with a PS/2 keyboard and PS/2 scroll mouse. Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 is pre-installed.
