    The StorageWorks Enclosure 4300 is designed to support the fastest current and next generation Ultra2 and Ultra3 hard drives on the same SCSI bus. The ease of upgrading the StorageWorks Enclosure 4200 to the StorageWorks Enclosure 4300 provides the lowest cost of ownership. With the 4300, you get: Higher performance with Ultra3 SCSI transfer rates and the highest spindle count per U of rack space;
    its 3U rack form factor allows the maximum storage capacity per square foot in the data center; easy upgradability and investment protection with Ultra3 single and dual I/O upgrade modules, and the ability to mix and match existing Ultra2 components with Ultra3. This makes transitions simple and cost effective, and has simplified the transition to the next generation SCSI protocol. This model offers a 10-drive enclosure with a dual bus, hot-pluggable disk drives, hot-pluggable dual power supplies and fans, data transfer rates up to 160MB/s per channel and a modular design that can be used with JBOD configurations to Smart Array enclosures to RAID arrays (levels 0, 1, 0+1 and 5). It supports up to 728GB of storage using ten 72.8GB 1.6" drives, and up to 14 enclosures can be housed in one 42U rack for a single rack storage capacity of 10.1TB. Front panel LEDs indicate drive activity, required drive service and power, giving a quick visual assessment of overall system storage status. LED status and fault indicators for the fans and power supplies are located in the back of the enclosure.
