The FortiGate line of Network Protection Gateways (NPGs) is a series of dedicated, hardware-based units that deliver complete network protection services deployed at the network edge. Based on Fortinet's ABACAS technology and FortiASIC Content Processors, the FortiGate series breaks the Content Processing Barrier, providing the only systems with real-time, ASIC-based protection against viruses, worms, and other content-based threats - along with content filtering, firewall, VPN, intrusion detection, and traffic shaping functions. The FortiGate Series provides the most cost effective, convenient, and powerful network protection solutions available for detecting and defeating attacks, preventing misuse, and improving the quality of key network applications.

The FortiGate-3000 NPG establishes a new level of price/performance for complete protection in multigigabit networks. The FortiGate-3000 combines real-time, ICSA-certified antivirus protection with support for 3 gigabits/second of firewall throughput and 300 megabits/second of IPsec VPN traffic with triple-DES encryption. Multizone configuration enables ports to be grouped and configured with unique security policies. Redundant power supplies ensure high-availability, and stateful failover supports nonstop operation for mission-critical applications. The high performance, flexibility, and reliability FortiGate-3000 meets the requirements of the most demanding applications in large enterprise and service provider environments.
