The 36GB Seagate Savvio 15K SAS Hard Drive is 70 percent smaller than 3.5-inch 15K drives and enable cooler, faster and much more reliable systems. In addition, the Savvio 15K drive’s smaller size enables more drives per system, increasing system performance density and allowing more memory in the system to match faster processors. A higher reliability rating than any 3.5-inch drive and the best nonrecoverable error rate, improved by a factor of 10, rigorously safeguards data.

More drives per system than 3.5-inch drives allows RAID 5, or mirroring with hot spares, in 1U servers. Savvio 15K drives bring enterprise-class reliability to blade servers. The Savvio 15K drive consumes less power, runs cooler and enables more airflow to cool processors. Savvio 15K drive performance enables IT to meet its performance needs in less space and with fewer drives, lowering TCO.
