FastTrak SX8300 8-Port SATA PCI-X RAID Controller
The Promise FastTrak SX8300 offers SATA II compatibility, including 3Gb/s speed, Native Command Queuing (NCQ), staggered spin-up, drive hot swap and disk activity LED headers support. Available on the latest SATA drives, NCQ increases I/O performance by intelligently reordering data requests so that the data can be accessed more quickly. In addition, it also provides multiple logical drive support.
The FastTrak SX8300 adds enhanced features for improved RAS (Reliability, Availability and Serviceability). In addition to an improved RAID algorithm, there is added support for background activities, including redundancy check and media patrol, activity resume watermarking, bad block handling, nonvolatile event logging, and multi-drive failure prevention.
