The Edgeport is a stackable expansion module that connects to a PC or a server through the USB port, providing two high-speed RS-232 serial ports and one parallel port. With the Edgeport, you can add multiple legacy ports to your computer in minutes. Attach additional Edgeports in seconds as your needs continue to grow and avoid the hassle of removing the PC cover, powering down the operating system and difficult configuration issues associated with PC Cards. It supports modems, ISDN terminal adapters, printers and point-of-sale automation applications. It is Plug and Play and hot-swap compatible and powered solely from the USB bus, so no external power supply is needed.
