Allied Telesyn's AT-MC103XL Media Converter has (1) RJ-45 port for 100m UTP connections, and (1) SC port for 15km single-mode fiber connections. An internal MDI/MDIX switch enables connections to any PC, hub or switch. A LinkTest feature lets you check the integrity of fiber connections without requiring costly test equipment.

This media converter automatically connects links in either full- or half-duplex mode to establish maximum bandwith. A MissingLink feature generates accurate system reports, in addition to enabling the interconnection of devices with redundant link capabilities. Should a fiber link fail, a signal goes out from the media converter and a second link becomes active.
