Refurb. 1605-R Ethernet/WAN Router - CISCO1605-R-RF
  • Supports Ethernet IPX/SPX, SNA, TCP/IP Networking
  • Remote Management over SNMP
  • 4MB Flash Memory
  • Warranty: 90 Days

The 1605-R router has two Ethernet ports and one WAN slot. The Cisco 1605 supports one WAN interface on a WAN interface card that can be installed in the router. A variety of WAN types are supported, depending on the type of card installed. You can choose the type of WAN connection that you want for your network. The 10BaseT RJ-45 ports connects the router to a 10BaseT Ethernet LAN through an Ethernet hub or switch. The Cisco 1605 supports up to two Ethernet LAN connections, with one AUI connector for legacy 10Base2 networks.

The Cisco 1605-R features Run-From-RAM (RFR) memory. With RFR, the Cisco IOS image is stored in Flash memory (usually in compressed form), but is loaded into RAM before being used to operate the router. The running software image then resides in RAM, so a new software image can be downloaded and copied over the software image stored in Flash memory. In RFR routers, only a minimal boot-helper image is stored in the ROM for disaster recovery. Initial loading of a software image into Flash memory is done over the console port or the local Ethernet.

This refurbished product is only available while supplies last.

In addition to easy-to-use software, the hardware for the Cisco 1600 routers is designed to be "plug-and-play" in four notable areas.First, each of the ports on the Cisco 1600 routers and WAN interface cards is color coded, and optional color-coded cables can bepurchased from Cisco. Second, preconfigured software may be loaded into a Flash memory PC card at a central site, and then a user atremote site may deploy the router by simply inserting the Flash card, plugging in cables, and turning on the power. Third, once the routeris running, software upgrades and configuration modifications can be downloaded over the WAN from a central site. And finally, theCisco 1600 series allows for centralized administration and management via Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) or Telnetor through the console port.
