A built-in 80GB hard disk drive (HDD) can record and store approximately 30 hours of high definition video footage (HD LP mode), or up to 56 hours of standard definition footage (SD LP mode). You'll also enjoy peace of mind with HDD Smart Protection which prevents any recorded video and images from being lost if the camcorder is accidentally dropped.
Hybrid recording technology lets you record video directly to either the 80GB hard disk drive or removable Memory Stick PRO Duo media (sold separately). You can even select from various dubbing functions to easily copy video or still images from the HDD to the Memory Stick media—without using a PC.
Ideal for sporting events, wildlife, or distance shooting, 25X optical zoom brings you closer to the action, so you can capture extremely tight shots, even from far away. In addition, digital zoom interpolation means that extreme digital zooming (up to 2000X) is clearer, with less distortion than previous types of digital zooms.
