Digi International's AccelePort Xp is an 8-port, asynchronous PCI adapter designed for enhanced multi-user and Remote Access Service (RAS) implementations such as retail point-of-sale applications, industrial control processing, data collection and office automation. This PCI 2.2-compliant adapter ships with a DB25 fan-out cable, offering wide application flexibility and superior CPU utilization via (8) high-speed DB25 serial ports. The adapter's single SCSI HD-68 female connector reduces cable clutter and provides increased connection reliability.

The AccelePort Xp's superior architecture features an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) built around an 80MHz RISC processor, providing your enterprise with industry-leading speed and high performance. The AccelePort Xp communicates, bi-directionally and with low latency, at 921.6Kbps, over each and every serial port. Other features include: full modem control; hardware handshaking support; reliable surge protection, and compatibility with a wide array of cabling options (all with SCSI HD-68 connections).

PortAssist Manager, Digi's Web-based management and reporting software, allows the AccelePort Xp to perform diagnostic tasks and also provides enhanced network administration and monitoring across all supported operating systems. These include: Windows 2000/NT; Novell Netware; SCO OpenServer; Linux; UnixWare 7; Sun Solaris, and more.
