The HP StorageWorks FC2143 single-channel 4Gb PCI-X 2.0 HBA for Windows supports customers with Integrity and ProLiant Servers that have PCI-X I/O slots in them. This product now gives customers the ability to use the higher performance PCI-X 2.0 I/O bus to connect to their HP StorageWorks arrays.

The FC2143 is a high performance, enterprise class host bus adapter that combines the backward compatibility and high bandwidth of 266MHz PCI-X 2.0 with exceptional 4Gb/s Fibre Channel performance. Emulex HBAs employ a firmware-based architecture and a unique Service Level Interface (SLI) that enable new features and other upgrades without costly adapter hardware changes. Emulex technology also allows for a single set of drivers and management tools across HBA product families. This kind of technical flexibility and investment protection is critical when working with evolving technology.

"No Reboot" firmware based architecture supports high-availability environments, allowing this HBA to be updated with new features and functions, without disruptive reboots of the host system. The "no reboot" feature enhances today's "always on" critical server environments. This Emulex based 4Gb HBA presents a standard interface to the OS that allows the same driver to be used with older generation 2Gb and even 1Gb HBAs, simplifying SAN management. The low power consumption of this new 4Gb HBA helps keep the server running cooler and more reliably. The HBA's low-profile form factor ensures maximum compatibility with the widest variety of HP servers, including the low profile BL40p.
