This camera also provides remote Internet pan, tilt and digital zoom operation, making it possible to have a single camera cover a large surveillance area. Equipped with a 1/4" megapixel CMOS imager, this camera is capable of delivering 1280 x 1024 high resolution video images over a network. By starting off with such high quality, image sharpness is maintained even when using the 10x digital to magnify a selected portion of the image.
Utilizing a sophisticated Back-Light compensation control, this camera is able to brighten dark areas of an image without affecting the light areas, thus preventing the image from appearing washed-out. Video can be captured in the MPEG-4 and JPEG formats simultaneously. This allows a user to view live video in the fast MPEG-4 format while recording is taking place in the higher resolution JPEG method. A user can also choose one over the other to suit a network requirement.
With the simple click of a mouse, a remote Internet user can activate the camera's motorized pan & tilt function to point the lens in a desired direction. A user can also digitally magnify a selected part of the image by up to 10 times. Images can be recorded locally to an optional SD memory card up to 2GB in capacity. An SD card provides quick retrieval and transfer of critical event footage and can also be used to store images in the event of a network failure.
