The IBM 2 x 16 Console Switch is a 16-port, Cat5 console switch for two-user local management of rack-mounted IBM System x servers. The IBM 2 x 16 Console Switch lets you inexpensively cable, monitor, and manage your rack servers. This switch supports System x servers with PS/2 or USB KVM ports and can support up to 256 servers through chaining.

It is installed outside the server with no adapter card required, is designed for rapid deployment and is easy to implement. No PCI slot is required. Management software powered by intuitive On Screen Displays (OSDs) is provided, which makes management and setup extremely easy. The switch has been tested with IBM racks and System x products to ensure proper functionality.
