The 400GB MK4058GSX 5400 RPM SATA 3GB/s 2.5" Hard Disk Drive provides data storage on two platters, making it a high-capacity and light-weight storage solution for mobile computing applications. Inherent in the drive's design are new technologies which reduce operating acoustics to nearly imperceptible levels. The extraordinarily quiet operation makes the MK4058GSX particularly suitable for video- and audio-playback purposes.

The MK4058GSX also demonstrates Toshiba's focus on enhancing the environmental soundness of its products by eliminating certain specific toxic chemicals including halogens, antimony trioxide, red phosphorus as well as polyvinyl chloride across all 105 components contained in the drive. During operation, the MK4058GSX reduces the power consumption over even the most power-conservative 3.5" hard disk drives by as much as 70 percent, without sacrificing the storage capacity needed by today's digital-age users.
