Enhancing the productivity of your ThinkPad, it reads or writes data with speedy data transfer rates. CD read and write speeds run at 24x while CD rewrite speeds run at 16x. The drive reads DVDs at 8x, writes DVD+/R media at 8x and writes DVD+/-R DL media at 4x. DVD rewrite speeds top out at 6x.
