This USB to Serial converter allows you to connect an RS-232 serial device such as a modem to a USB port on your desktop or laptop PC. It is compliant with USB 1.1 specifications, and supports the RS-232 serial interface, with a data transfer rate of up to 500kbps. The cable installs as a standard Windows COM port, with full RS-232 modem control signals and RS-232 data signals TxD, RxD, RTS, CTS, DSR, DTR, DCD, RI and GND. You don't need an external power adapter, as the cable supports Bus power. The cable is plug and play compliant, so installation is easy.
