The Scalar 50 is a robust automation platform with a base storage capacity of up to 60.8 TB that can scale up to 121.6 TB, providing flexibility and investment protection for enterprises with growing storage needs.

The intuitive set-up wizard guides the initial configuration step-by-step, so the library is up and running quickly and efficiently. Once up and running, StorageCare Guardian proactively monitors the system health, ensuring reliable operation and simplifying storage management for smaller businesses or remote offices managed from central locations.

The Scalar 50 base library supports 2 full height, or 4 half height, LTO tape drives with 38 tape slots in a 4U rackmount configuration. If storage growth drives the need for more capacity, the Scalar 50 Expansion Module provides an additional 38 tape slots in another 4U configuration, increasing the total tape library capacity to 76 slots with up to 121.6 TB in an 8U configuration. The Scalar 50 Expansion Module also provides support for another 2 full height or 4 half height LTO tape drives.
