HP Modular Cooling System, G2 Rack - AF025A
This HP Modular Cooling System Generation 2 (HP MCS G2) Rack is the next generation self-cooled rack for high density deployments allowing you to deploy extreme densities in your data center even when your air conditioner (AC) has reached its peak performance levels. Using chilled water in a closed air loop within the rack triples the standard cooling capacity of a single rack. Also, it considerably reduces emission of hot exhaust air to the data center. This increases server densities without having the need to install more computer room air conditioners (CRAC) in the data center.
In addition, the new HP Bi-directional technology makes possible the simultaneous cooling of two racks with a single MCS G2 unit. The MCS G2 racks can cool up to 17.5 kW per rack, when cooling two racks, or up to 35 kW, when cooling a single rack. Also, by packing three times the kW capacity of a standard rack, the MCS G2 considerably extends the life of the data center.
