ZyXEL's IEEE 802.11a/b/g Dual-Band Wireless Client CardBus Adapter connects your desktop or computer to three wireless standard networks (A, B and G). To avoid interference, you can use auto frequency band selection or switch to IEEE 802.11a connection mode. Unlike IEEE 802.11b/g networks which use the 2.4GHz band, IEEE 802.11a uses the 5GHz frequency range specifically for high-speed transmission. In addition, with IEEE 802.11a, you don't have to worry about interference from Bluetooth systems or home appliances (such as microwave ovens and cordless phones).
ZyXEL's wireless network adapter works as a wireless client or access point. With the built-in AP function, you can instantly create your wireless network without buying an additional AP. Or, use the wireless adapter to connect to existing wireless networks easily.
In addition to basic 64/128/256-bit WEP encryption, ZyXEL's wireless network adapter features the latest, enhanced wireless security mechanisms such as IEEE 802.1x authentication and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA/WPA2). The enhanced security functions protect wireless communication and only allow authorized users access to your network. This protects your network from malicious break-ins and information theft.
The IEEE 802.11a/b/g Dual-Band Wireless Client CardBus Adapter fully supports WiFi MultiMedia quality of service which means that if you were to have multiple applications requiring bandwidth such as MultiMedia streaming from the Internet along with VoIP, the Adapter can prioritize and balance traffic according to the needs and available bandwidth.
