Notebook DriveDock v4 is a perfect solution for anyone who deals with bare 2.5" notebook drives. It quickly attaches to drives via FireWire (400 or 800) or USB. Dual FireWire ports allow daisy-chaining for more versatility. The FireWire bridge chip is the new and improved 911+ from Oxford Semiconductor, and it's substantially faster than the older 911.

Generation 4 provides plenty of options. In addition to its bright new color, it has new power control features and multiple powering options. Notebook DriveDock supports bus powering over FireWire so you should never need to use an AC adapter. However, Notebook DriveDock also supports powering via AC Adapter or 4-pin molex in case bus power is unavailable. Because it's based on the Oxford 911+ chipset, FireWire transfer rates are really fast.
